What's new in Gridzu

• Fixed — the CRM's ticket buttons were missing — Tickets, Ticket notes, Ticket helpers and Time entries had no toolbar group of their own, so they never appeared as buttons and could only be reached through “Another table…”. They now sit in a Tickets cluster, in the order you'd use them.
• Colour your tab groups — each group can carry its own colour, tinting its underline and its name together. Right‑click a group's band and pick one, or set it back to the theme's colour.
• Collapsed tabs show letters, not just an icon — a squeezed group labels each tab with two or three letters from its name (Customers → Cus, Ticket notes → TN), so you can still tell them apart at a glance.
• Collapsed tabs fan out like a hand of cards — they overlap rather than sitting in a row, the first card on top, and hovering one slides it out and shows its full name. The tab you're on stays full‑width and on top.
• Employees — a table for your people, with tickets, time entries and helpers naming an employee instead of typing a name.
• Fixed — the tax rate is filled in from the customer's state when you pick them, and says which state it came from.

• Group your tabs into bands — right‑click a tab to put it in a named group, and the group gets a coloured band under the tab strip. Click the band to squeeze the group down to icons and give the space back; click again to open it. Rename a group, move tables in and out, and it's remembered per workspace. Setting up a plugin puts its tables in a band of their own, once — after that the group is yours and nothing rearranges it.
• What a customer owes was showing as zero — on a freshly set‑up CRM the figure was worked out before the invoice totals it adds up existed, so it came out as 0.00 and stayed there until you happened to edit an invoice. It's now worked out after, and corrects itself on any CRM already set up when you next run setup.
• Row numbers past a million are readable — the row‑number column fitted six digits, so scrolling a ten‑million‑row file showed every number cut short. It now fits ten.
• The app reports its own version correctly — 1.1.5 introduced itself as 1.1.4 in the title bar and in anything you sent us. The version now comes from the build itself, so it can't drift again.
• Searching other workspaces stays out of the way — the list of matches elsewhere used to hang over the tab strip. Fold it away and it becomes a count in the search box; it stays folded next time.
• Switching workspace no longer leaves the last one's rows on screen — the grid kept showing what it had already fetched, under a heading correctly counting the new table.
• Keyboard — Enter and Space now press whatever's focused, instead of being taken by the Edit cell shortcut.

• Plugins — add-ons you can switch on — Gridzu stays free. Plugins are optional extras, each its own $10 a month subscription, and they appear as their own group on the toolbar. The first one is the CRM: customers, tickets, time and invoices, built on the tables you already have.
• Buy one without leaving the app — a plugin you haven't got shows greyed with an “Add” tag. Click it and you go straight to checkout; it switches itself on when the payment goes through. Nothing to enter twice, and no licence key to keep somewhere safe.
• Manage billing — a new item in the account menu opens your own billing page, where you can change the card, download past invoices, or cancel. Cancelling takes two clicks and keeps the plugin until the end of the month you've already paid for. There's a 14‑day money‑back guarantee on your first payment.
• Plugins now understand your own tables — if you told Gridzu which of your columns is which, a plugin now uses those names throughout instead of quietly expecting its own. Headings, filters, saved views and emailed replies all work on data you brought with you, not just tables Gridzu made.
• Simpler mail settings — pick your provider, type your address and password once, and Gridzu works out the servers, ports and security for you. The technical detail is still there behind an “advanced” toggle if you need it. Sent messages are now filed in your Sent folder, found by asking your mailbox rather than making you type its name.
• Saving a PDF no longer fails when the last one you saved is still open on screen.
• Invoice polish — the fixes that only show up once you send a real one.

• A cleaner, friendlier interface — the toolbar is now grouped by what you're actually doing (get data in · tidy up · check), with plain‑English captions so you can tell at a glance where things live. Buttons use a single calm icon set instead of assorted emoji, and menu items say what they're for.
• “First row is header” is out in the open — it used to be buried at the bottom of the Clean menu; now it's a labelled switch in the toolbar, right where you need it.
• Combine tables into one — stack several tables (or files) into one big table. Columns with the same name line up automatically, and columns that only exist in some tables are added and left blank where missing. Your originals aren't changed.
• Open CSV files straight from your desktop — Gridzu now registers as an app that opens .csv and .tsv files, so you can double‑click one (or right‑click → Open with → Gridzu) and it loads instantly. Opening a file while Gridzu is already running loads it into the same window.
• Keep openable copies of your data — pick a folder and Gridzu automatically saves every table there as a plain CSV, organised into a folder per workspace. Point it at a Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox folder and it doubles as an automatic off‑computer backup. CSV works at any size — even tables far too big for a spreadsheet to open.
• Open file location — right‑click any table's tab to jump straight to its CSV in Explorer or Finder.
• Bulk Lookup shows results on the tabs — after a lookup, each open table that contained matches shows a match count on its tab, and the summary now spells out how many values were unique versus duplicates, and how many times each value appears in each table.
• Bulk Lookup is much faster and never freezes — searching a big list of values (even tens of thousands) no longer locks up the window, and “match anywhere inside a cell” searches that used to take many minutes now finish in seconds. You can watch progress and cancel a long search at any time.
• Load lookup values from a file, properly — choose which column holds your values, skip a header row, and it correctly handles quoted fields, commas inside cells, and files saved from Excel.
• Choose where to search — everywhere, just the current workspace, or only the table you have open.
• Clearer results — see which column each value matched, filter to just found or just missing, export the full results to a CSV, and Bulk Lookup now remembers your last search.
• Fixed — the row‑number column could grow too wide on tables with only a few columns; it now stays a consistent width.
• Fixed — comparison results now label the key column correctly.

• Scroll and jump to any row in huge tables — previously, in files with more than about 745,000 rows, the scrollbar and Go‑to‑row couldn't reach past that point. Now they reach the very last row in files of any size (tested to 10 million rows). Tip: press Ctrl+G, or double‑click the # column header, to jump straight to a row number.

• Faster structural edits on big tables — adding or removing a column, transforming text (upper/lower/trim and the like), and splitting a column into new ones are now near-instant and use far less memory on very large tables, while still being a single Undo. Undoing a column delete restores the column with all its values.
• Fixed a display glitch where the window could shake or flicker when sized to certain widths — the top bar, tabs, and toolbar now stay rock-steady at any window size.

• Separate data per account — each account you sign into keeps its own workspaces and tables on this computer. Sign in and you see only that account's data; a different account is cleanly separate. (Your existing tables are kept and moved to your current account automatically.)
• Faster sign-out — signing out is now instant, even with a very large table open.
• Fixed the "Continue with Google" and "Continue with Microsoft" buttons, which could be hard to read in dark mode.

Large tables are dramatically faster

• Opening, scrolling, pasting, editing, and cleaning stay fast on tables with hundreds of thousands of rows — operations now scale with what you touch, not how big the table is.
• Pasting large blocks no longer freezes the window: a progress bar shows how far along it is, and huge pastes finish in a fraction of the time.
• Adding rows and the clean tools (Remove duplicates, Clear blank rows, Trim spaces, Find & Replace) are near-instant even on giant tables — and each is still a single Undo.
• Scrolling deep into a big table stays smooth at any depth.

New

• Copy all cells (Ctrl+Shift+A) — grab the whole table at once.
• Pan-scroll — hold the middle mouse button and move the mouse to glide around a big table. The trigger is rebindable in the shortcuts editor.
• Scrollbar rulers — row numbers up the right edge and column numbers along the bottom, so you always know where you are while scrolling.
• Resend verification email and an on-demand Check for updates, with the account menu tidied up.

Improved

• Copy and paste behave like a proper spreadsheet: pasted data lands in the column you click, and the table grows to fit wider data instead of dropping columns.

• Sign out — a "Sign out" button in the top bar (also a bindable shortcut), to switch accounts or sign out on a shared computer.

• Sign in with Google or Microsoft — skip the password entirely. If you already have a Gridzu account, signing in with Google or Microsoft using the same email links to it automatically.
