Privacy Policy

The short version

Your spreadsheets and their contents stay on your own computer — we never receive or upload them. The only personal information we store is the email address and a securely hashed password needed to run your account. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use third-party tracking.

Who we are

Gridzu ("we", "us") provides the Gridzu desktop application and this website. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

Account details — your email address, a one-way hashed password (we never store or see your actual password), and basic account status (e.g. verified, active, plan tier) and timestamps.
Sign-in sessions — a random session token so you stay signed in, plus the time of your last successful sign-in check.
Messages you send us — if you use the in-app Feedback feature, we store the message you send and your build/OS so we can help.
Basic server logs — like most websites, our hosting may record standard request information (such as IP address and timestamps) for security and reliability.

What we do not collect

Your files and data. Spreadsheets, CSVs, and everything you open or create in Gridzu are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to us.
No advertising profiles, no selling of personal data, no third-party tracking or analytics cookies.

How we use what we collect

To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
To send essential emails — verifying your email address and resetting your password.
To respond to feedback or support requests you send us.
To keep the service secure and working.

Email

We send transactional emails (verification and password reset) through an email delivery provider. We don't send marketing email unless you opt in.

Sharing & third parties

We don't sell or rent your information. We only use service providers needed to run Gridzu (for example, server hosting and email delivery), and only for those purposes. If you choose to use the optional team-sharing feature, your data goes to your own GitHub account under GitHub's terms — not to us.

Where your information lives

Your account information is stored on our server. Your actual files stay on your own computer. (We may move hosting providers over time; this section will be kept current.)

Keeping it & deleting it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time — see Contact below.

Children

Gridzu isn't directed at children and isn't intended for use by anyone under 16.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the date above and post the new version here.
